We went to visit Elisa on Sunday and took some carrots and oats with us. She is spending winter on a farm just a few miles from Pojo. As we walked into the barn to say hello, S. pointed to a white ewe who was just giving birth and we saw a tiny black lamb come into the world - a little ball of frizz, steaming in the straw, it wasn't long before his mum cleaned him up and he bleated - lots of noise for such a tiny thing.. Elisa climbed up onto the sides of the pen and let me stroke her nose while we chatted to the farmer, Then we left because the other ewe was obviously still in labour and about to have another lamb. Can't wait to have her back in Pojo, the big field is so empty without any sheep.
